Year 6 Page
Welcome to Year 6!
On this page, there will be a breakdown of: the topics and information being taught each term (Autumn, Spring and Summer) as well as a break down of any home learning being sent home to support your child's learning.
Throughout the year, we will investigating: the impact our local area had in the involvement of World War II; the relationship between Britain and India as well as the victorious Vikings. Children will have the opportunity to learn a variety of skills as well as making cross curricular links with their reading and writing skills, while studying these topics. These skills include: geography, history, visual arts, design and technology, music, speaking and listening and much more!
We are very conscientious that our wonderful children will also be preparing and transitioning to get ready for secondary school throughout the academic year. As a result, children will have the opportunity to be scientists as they investigate: light, electricity, evolution and inheritance, human things and their habitats as well as animals (including humans), while developing their working scientifically skills.
As a Year 6 team, we are excited to work in collaboration with you to create the most exciting and successful learning journey with your children.
Happy learning everyone!
