Grange Park

Junior School

Striving to be the best that we can be

British Values

The curriculum at Grange Park Junior School actively promotes fundamental British values. This includes the values of democracy, the rule of the law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance for others.

At Grange Park Junior School each of these values are reinforced daily alongside our own GPJS ten values in the following ways:

Democracy
Pupils have a say in school life in a number of ways such as School Council meetings with Mrs Ramtohul-Butler and Prefect meetings with Miss Henderson and Miss Shaikh.

Rule of Law
Pupils understand the difference between right and wrong. They recognise that there are consequences for every choice that they make and apply this to their lives inside and outside of school by respecting and adhering to the law of the land.

Individual Liberty
Pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe environment and also understanding that they are accountable for those choices.

Mutual Respect
Mutual respect is an integral part of the culture at Grange Park Junior School and is embedded through our visions and values.

Tolerance for Others

We teach pupils to respect the values and beliefs of others through all areas of school life and the wider community.

Every classroom displays these values to remind all staff and pupils of the British Values which are promoted in our school.
