As school council our roles and responsibilities are:
- to be an excellent role model for other pupils – demonstrate our school values
- to represent the views of others, even when we may not agree with that view
- to contribute and share ideas and thinking at meetings
- to share our class ideas at School Council meeting
- to share School Council proposals with our class
- to have regular meetings and discussions with our class
- to support everyone in ‘Striving to be the best that we can be’
All school councillors have to attend meetings regularly and discuss a whole range of issues including:
- healthy eating in school
- the school environment
- school uniform
- improving the playground
- after school activities
School Councillors are responsible for ensuring that decisions at meetings are carried out. In addition the School Council sometimes help to write special project bids; to help the school to get additional funds from outside agencies. The School Council is also involved in fund raising for our chosen charities. These are: Children In Need, Comic /Sports Relief and Cancer Research. Alongside this, they also help to raise funds for our school.
We led projects in school to achieve the Healthy London Schools Bronze Award!

Yeading Cluster's Interfaith Project
To celebrate Interfaith week, Grange Park Junior School collaborated with Yeading Cluster schools to create a video to showcase children's artwork and ideas around Interfaith week. Our School Council and Prefects can be seen within the video along with some of our own GPJS pupils' artwork. Selected pieces of art were also displayed in Hillingdon libraries throughout Interfaith week.

Children in Need
We held a non-uniform day to raise money for BBC Children in Need. It was amazing to see how bright and colourful the children and teachers dressed to support this great cause. Our School Councillors presented a fantastic assembly to the whole school in the morning, followed by a whole school virtual PE session with Joe Wicks. Throughout the day, each class completed a range of Children in Need activities. It was a very enjoyable and productive day!
Thank you for your donations, GPJS raised an incredible £538.83 for Children in Need.
This is a true reflection of how generous our school community is! Thank you for your dedication and commitment to supporting this great cause.
