Keyworker & Vulnerable Pupils

If you are a keyworker and you need your child to attend school then please contact the school and a school place will be arranged.

Please follow the link to see the list of professions that are classed as keyworkers:

Keyworker & Vulnerable Pupils

If your child is attending school then can they please:

  • arrive from 8:30am and no later than 8:40am (Mindful Mornings commences at 8:45am)
  • wear their full GPJS uniform, including school shoes
  • bring a healthy packed lunch
  • only have one PE style drawstring bag (please put packed lunches in here)
  • have a labelled water bottle - this must only contain water (no juice/squash please)
  • be collected promptly at 3:20pm - gates open at 3:15pm
  • use the Balmoral Field entrance to exit and enter the school site

All children attending school will follow the same online lessons as their peers, this is to ensure that they have the same access to learning as their class and do not fall behind.

If your child joins the keyworker group part way through the term then they must bring their home learning packs in with them on their first day.  If the school has previously supplied a laptop for home use then this must also be brought in on their first day.

Health & Safety:

  • Our keyworker/vulnerable children are being taught in bubbles of no more than 15 children.
  • Each bubble has a dedicated classroom, which is  cleaned regularly throughout the day.
  • Each bubble has lunch in a dedicated room and bubbles do not mix over lunchtime.
  • Each bubble has a dedicated section of the playground on which to play and children do not mix with other bubbles at playtime/lunchtimes.
  • Each bubble takes part in the daily whole school exercise sessions from a dedicated area within the school and the bubbles do not mix.
  • Children and staff regularly wash their hands throughout the day.
  • We do our best to avoid staff members crossing bubbles, and if staff have to be changed then, if at all possible, that happens at the end/beginning of the week to give a clear 48 hours between contact.
  • All communal areas are regularly cleaned throughout the day.
  • All staff wear masks when in communal areas (inside school).  Staff are not required to wear masks in the classrooms or when teaching etc.

Parents/Carers

  • Please can all parents and carers wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines when on the school site.
  • Can all parents please contact the school if their child is not going to be in school.
  • If your child is unwell then please DO NOT send them to school.  Please do not administer paracetamol to lower temperatures.
