Homework

Online homework is set on a Monday for Reading, Maths and Spelling. It is due the following Monday.

Children are expected to complete the following each week:

  1. Assigned Mathletics tasks (3 tasks)
  2. Practice Times Tables Rockstars for at least 10 minutes each day.
  3. Practice the weekly spelling list (10 words per week). The spelling lists are in the children's Reading Records.
  4. Read at least 1 Bug Club book each week, including answering the questions
  5. Read their Oxford Reading Tree book on a daily basis

We have subscribed to a range of websites to further support home learning in these subject areas. Upon completion of each activity, immediate feedback is given. Children will be asked to access these websites in order to complete their homework. Below is a list of the websites we have subscribed to:

Reading - Bug Club

Maths - Mathletics

Times Tables Rockstars

Discovery Education

Prodigy

If there are any difficulties accessing these websites, we ask that you contact the classroom teacher, who can make alternative arrangements. Login details can be found in your child's reading record/homework diary.

Please ensure that you are reading at home with your child every day and asking them questions about what they have read. Your child’s reading record/homework diary should then be signed so that we ensure that every child is reading, as this will enable them to make greater progress in school.

Holiday Homework

Before each half term children will receive a homework grid. This will include a variety of fun curriculum related activities and tasks for children to complete over the half term. Every child must complete a minimum of two activities, or tasks every half term.

Year 6

In addition to the homework above and to consolidate learning from class, year 6 will receive regular home learning tasks for grammar, reading and maths. Pupils will record their homework in their homework diary.
