Reduction of PAN School Pupil Numbers

Grange Park Infants School & Grange Park Junior School are working in partnership for the benefit of our local community. We would therefore ask all our parents/carers to note the following:

We want to update parents about the size of the schools. Together with our Governors and Hillingdon Council officers we believe it would be sensible to formally reduce our pupil numbers in each year group from 120 to 90 due to falling numbers in Hillingdon. Our Year 4 pupils are already three classes. This move will help the school to plan teachers and classes for pupils and focus our resources on our pupils to best serve local families. In this way we can ensure the best possible outcomes for all our pupils.

Please note this will not change anything for pupils and parents at the school or for siblings or other local families wishing to join the school in future. If agreed, this would start from September 2024. Grange Park Infant and Nursery School propose to do the same from September 2024.

The final decision will be taken in September after the new year has begun. If we want to change the legal admissions number we will have a formal consultation with an opportunity for parents to see the plans and comment – including a short on-line survey.

The consultation is until 6th January 2023.

Meanwhile if you have any questions please speak to the head or email colleagues at Hillingdon on schoolplaceplanning@hillingdon.gov.uk who will then email you or if you wish, phone you back.

Please also see the paperwork below which has more information about the reduction:

Parents who are interested in obtaining a place at Grange Park Junior School for their children are encouraged to make an appointment to visit the school.  This will provide an opportunity to see the school at work, meet staff and to ask any questions about the school.  Children are welcome to accompany parents on these visits.

APPLYING FOR A YEAR 3 PLACE IN SEPTEMBER 2024

If your child was born between 1st September 2016 and 31st August 2017 you will need to apply for a junior school place for September 2024 through Hillingdon Local Authority

https://www.hillingdon.gov.uk/junior-school

This webpage will give you all of the information you will need to apply for a school place. Once Admissions have confirmed you have been allocated a place, we will invite you to a welcome meeting.  This is a chance for you to:

  • Meet your child’s teacher
  • Find out when your child will be starting school
  • Ask us any questions you may have about your child starting school
  • Help your child settle into school
